My Friend's Family
My friend emailed me a couple months ago, asking if I would do his family's portrait for their Christmas card.
Yeah! I love photographing friends!
Especially ones I've known for a long time.
I photographed his eldest son when he was born.
This day we played at Look Park, in Florence, Mass.
It was a perfect warm, late autumn day to reconnect, and get some great moments together.
I hope we get to do this more often!

Wedding Thank Yous
I photographed the nicest couple recently!
I am still editing their images.
They recently asked for some shots they could use as "thank you" notes.
Sure!
I emailed them these 4 shots of just the two of them.
Out of the hundreds, I choose the ones that conveyed the feeling & look of the entire day.
I want to thank this lovely couple for allowing me to shoot such a great afternoon!

Trash The Dress Romance
I was expecting to photograph a standard Trash-The-Dress session on the beach with a recent bride.
It ended being a romantic portrait time with the newlyweds.
I drove to NYC to photograph in his folks' backyard, Brighton Beach.
It was a rainy Sunday, two days after their wedding day... which I photographed.
The downpour stopped JUST as we were going for the short stroll to the boardwalk.
The session was a fun, barefoot time running and kissing in the waves & sand.
It lasted for about an hour.
It was a great time for the couple to just be together after a long weekend of parties and plans.
This is one of my favorite posed shots of them.
I shoot my formals in a less-than-formal way, in the documentary way.
I was a photojournalist at a local newspaper for many years, so this is my style of shooting.
I feel it is the nicest way to do any portrait or wedding.
It shows off the folk as they really are.
No forced smiles, or uncomfortable looks.
Thank you for the invitation to come along on a very special afternoon!

Family Portrait-90th Birthday
I fell in love with this big family!
They are ALL talented, and beautiful and funny.
Grandpa, the concert pianist, was turning 90.
Everyone gathered to celebrate, and be photographed.
They wanted to be outdoors, but it rained.
I thought...
...why not gather around what Grandpa plays, the two grand pianos?
And I got some wonderful. documentary, intimate images.
And Grandpa got to play...
...a lot...
...more then he has had in a while, he told me, after the 1 1/2 hour long session.
Love them.

Fun Couple At Their Wedding
This couple had so much fun on their wedding day.
I did ,too!
I love just standing back and photographing the whole wedding party, their family, and friends enjoying their very special day.
It can be quite the party atmosphere.
The biggest compliment I get often comes from the groom...
"I didn't even know you were there photographing us!"
Ah... I did my job well!

Wedding Photos
A recent wedding I did forced me to get more involved...
...I got ON the dance floor, I mingled more, I enjoyed being in the moment!
Having a very energetic and loving couple to photograph helped immensely.
This bride & groom enjoyed their special day, and enjoyed having me there to capture it.
Thank you!

Father's Memorial ~ Part 1
I designed this cover illustration.
It's for my father's memorial service program.
My mother thought the heart was too big in the tree.
She was envisioning something smaller hovering in the branches.
I like it just the way it is.
It symbolizes my Dad's true heart...
SO BIG.
Too much for his body to handle.
It just had to let go.

Wedding Photos
These photos are from a wedding I shot last month.
It was such a pleasure working with this bride & groom...
...actually I never feel it's work when I am photographing a wedding.
I feel like I'm an honored guest when at a wedding celebration, and that was especially true with this couple!
