PORTRAITURE 101Natural light is the most flattering.
Find a window, or glass door and stand or sit the subject near it.
Sometimes I use fill-flash, just to fill in where light is needed.
I let my subject be natural.
Being themselves is the most flattering way to pose.
We find familiar objects, cozy places to sit or snuggle.
Sometimes I suggest a teddy bear or blanket, something to make them feel at ease.
I document that moment, that person, and their place.
It is a special time together, too.
We get to talk, play, and create together.
I like to work this way.
It's natural to me.
